Article by Anya Jabour: “It’s Up to the Women”
Former director of the Public History Program at UM, Professor Anya Jabour, wrote an article, “It’s Up to the Women,” for the Eleanor Roosevelt Historic Site. The article dives into Eleanor Roosevelt’s life and her introduction to women’s rights, activism, and politics. It also lays out many of ER’s achievements and the groundwork she laid for later feminists and activists. Like many women at the time, ER struggled with finding her way in a world dominated by men, and Jabour explores that in the context of feminism in the early 19th century. Read the article here.
